Traditional Chinese teacup

My Thrifting Adventure Queen Anne

I went thrifting hoping to find traditional Chinese tea set. A classic and complete set, the kind with the teapot, little cups and lid. The one you picture in old tea houses in china.

But instead, I stumbled on this Queen Anne teacup and saucer.A delicate, scalloped, lined in gold, sitting there like it had been waiting for me. I didn’t even know it was a thing to have different cups and mugs for different occasions. A “good cup,” a “daily cup,” a “guest cup,” a “comfort cup.” But now it makes sense.

Every cup really does hold a story.

The moment you choose it.
The day you bring it home.
The first drink you pour into it.
The memories that settle into its shape.

This little Queen Anne set wasn’t the traditional tea set I went looking for… but it became a piece of memory I didn’t know I needed. A tiny reminder that even the smallest finds can hold whole moments, whole feelings, whole chapters.

And maybe that’s the joy of thrifting: you never truly know what you’re searching for until it finds you.
