Therapeutical grade essential oils

What is therapeutical grade essential oils?

Therapeutical grade essential oils are made from plants through the process of distillation, steam, cold-pressed methods. When it comes to therapeutical grade essential oils there are no regulations or organization that regulates essential oils. This means it is an open market. Companies can enter and exit the market as they please. There is no standard or regulation. With this in mind, we must remember therapeutical grade is not a regulated term. Any company can add it to their oils.

According to the FDA therapeutical grade essential oils is defined as

“If a product is intended for therapeutic use, such as treating or preventing disease, or to affect the structure or function of the body, it’s a drug. For example, claims that a product will relieve colic, ease pain, relax muscles, treat depression or anxiety, or help you sleep are drug claims. Such claims are sometimes made for products such as soaps, lotions, and massage oils containing “essential oils” and marketed as “aromatherapy.” The fact that a fragrance material or other ingredient comes from a plant doesn’t keep it from being regulated as a drug.”

The FDA has a list of essential oils that are generally recogonize as safe.

Therapeutical grade essential oils are used in a way to improve your life when used safely. We call them therapeutical quality because every plant is different, and every person is unique. We do not say our oils the best and they will heal you; we all know that we are all different and we will react to different healing methods. If we say that our oils are best and will heal the best it is saying that we, as a company, know who you are, knows your body, and knows how your body is going to react to the oil—we do not. We are not doing one on one teaching to learn about your health. We understand how plants interact with bodies through studies. We know the benefits of the oils from history. However, we cannot say that you will fully benefit from the way studies show.

What to look for when buying pure essentials oils

Essential oil company’s goals should not prescribe your oils to heal you from certain diseases or to prevent illnesses. We provide you with an alternative way to be able to use the plant to improve your health and wellness. We should not be here to say that we know these are going to work, that we know that each oil will bring your certain benefits that are traceable because we don’t know. Every oil will react differently to each individual. With that being said, when a company claims that they have the best oils, we must consider what it means.

Recreating society will never say we have the best in anything. We will say that we can provide you with oils and products that will benefit you if used safely. We strive for you to learn about your body and how your body will react to each oil. It’s not and never will be about how your body is supposed to act. It’s about how your own body reacts. There is no official grading system by the government to regulate or control the oils. When you see the therapeutical grade, grade A, B, C, etc., it’s only for marketing terms. When using oil that says they are certified therapeutical grade, they are accredited by their own company, not a standard. When looking at qualifications and certificates, it is more important to look at the company’s values and how they work as a business than to see that a company holds a certificate. Using the right oil for your body correctly will provide you an increase in health and wellness. Knowing your body and your reaction to a specific oil type will give you a better understanding of what works for you. You know your body better than anyone, and you hold the power to use plants to heal.

Problems with therapeutical grade.

Therapeutical Grade vs food grade Essential oils

Another problem that shows up when companies say that their oil is the therapeutical grade is they promote that it can be used internally. However, are essential oils safe to consume? Having the label of therapeutical grade and food grade is not possible. The FDA regulaes food grade. When oils can be taken internally and sold as a food-grade oil, you cannot say that your oil is a therapeutical grade, and claiming so violates the FDA requirement for food grade. When oils are considered food graded, they are redistilled. When they are redistilled, they are not considered “therapeutical grade” The therapeutical grade is never redistilled. Another term that you will find in your research is GRAS. (generally recognized as safe) These are usually safe oils, but companies do not label them as ingestible because to do so, you must have a nutritional label on your packaging. Due to the potent properties of essential oils, it is challenging to get a nutritional value for a small amount of oil.

My advice to everyone is if you are going to put something on your body or in your body, you need to know about it. So I am here to provide you ways of opening your mind. If you want to use essential oils to ease healing, to prevent illness, you must put in the time to learn about oils and learn about your body. Like modern medicine, we have to understand and know our bodies and how they react to a specific plant type. Then test and trial. Just like modern medicine, not all treatments will work for your body. Essential oils are the same way. We must test them out.
