Calendula oil has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. It is one of my favorite ingredients to add to the Recreating Society product line. It's a soft but powerful ingredient. My goal for the upcoming year is to continue to grow my own Calendula. The main way that I use Calendula is by infusing it in oil to extract the most powerful properties. Calendula is used in salve, face oil, lotion bars, and bath soaks.
When used in a salve it helps with:
- healing wounds
- soothing eczema
- relieving diaper rash.
- prevent muscle spasms
- start menstrual periods
- reduce fever.
- reduce pain and inflammation
- healing wounds and leg ulcers
- inflammation of the rectum (proctitis)
- ear infection
- gum disease
- peeling lips (exfoliative cheilitis),
- inflammation of the lining of the eyelid
