Calendula Salve

Calendula oil has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. It is one of my favorite ingredients to add to the Recreating Society product line. It's a soft but powerful ingredient. My goal for the upcoming year is to continue to grow my own Calendula. The main way that I use Calendula is by infusing it in oil to extract the most powerful properties. Calendula is used in salve, face oil, lotion bars, and bath soaks.

When used in a salve it helps with:

  • healing wounds
  • soothing eczema
  • relieving diaper rash.
  • prevent muscle spasms
  • start menstrual periods
  • reduce fever.
  • reduce pain and inflammation
  • healing wounds and leg ulcers
  • nosebleeds
  • hemorrhoids
  • inflammation of the rectum (proctitis)
  • ear infection
  • gum disease
  • peeling lips (exfoliative cheilitis),
  • inflammation of the lining of the eyelid
