Abscess Compress

The infection area is red, swollen, hot, and painful. The skin resists the spread of infection; it's a barrier, trapping pus inside. Tea trees, lavender, and chamomile can help stop the disease while providing pain relief. Use this compress for less than half an inch; if more infection stays for a few days, seek medical attention.

Makes 8 ounces.

  • Sixty drops of lavender essential oil
  • Forty drops of chamomile essential oil
  • 20 drops of tea tree essential oil
  • One cup of hot water. Not boiling.
  • In a glass bottle, combine oils, and shake well.
  • Pour water into a wide bowl. Add 12 drops of oil to the water.
  • Apply the cloth to the abscess and leave it on until the fabric cools. Continue for 15 mins.
  • Repeat three times a day. Discontinuing is abscess drains.

Seek medical attention if you see signs of an infection.
